Who knew that a silky coat, big brown eyes and a velvety nose could temporarily derail our journey through as many national parks as possible in two years. Skyler, our sweet twelve year old ridgeback mix, had surgery last Wednesday to remove a cell mass. The stitches were the dissolvable kind and we expected to be on our way a week later. Suffice it to say that we spent Saturday at the emergency vet, Skyler now has twenty-two staples to cover her stitches and we just upped for another week at the current rv park at McGregor Lake in Marion Montana. Oh, also, it’s our 30th wedding anniversary today and even though we are “on the road” after just getting our boys through college what else can we expect to be doing on our anniversary but what we do best: parenting!!!
